The World Has Lost…
A truly talented author, L.C. Evans.
From her Amazon Page:
L.C. Evans began her writing career with short stories and essays before branching out into novel writing. More than a hundred of her stories and humorous essays have been published in such magazines as Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine, Woman’s World, Horse Illustrated, and Ladies Circle, among many others. Over the years, Ms. Evans has won awards in writing contests and has kept busy honing her craft by taking writing courses and attending writing seminars. She was recently a featured presenter at the Carolinas Writers Conference in Wadesboro, North Carolina. After traditional publication of Talented Horsewoman, the first of her Leigh McRae horse mystery novels, Ms. Evans decided to take control of her career by trying her hand at indie publishing.
“All this means,” she says, “is that I pay for my own editing, proofreading, cover design, formatting, and all the other publishing expenses. However, I also get complete control over my books, and that means I can keep the price low. Readers on a budget will still have access to my books. I care deeply about all of my readers, and I take great joy in the many fan letters readers send me.”
I had the pleasure of working with her on her final book, My Planet or Yours?
When I say “pleasure,” I truly mean it. I remember feeling a moment of thrill when she contacted me about editing her newest book. I had read and reviewed an earlier book of hers and was excited to have the opportunity to work with such a talented writer. As it turned out, Ms. Evans was not only a great author, but she became a good friend.
I spoke to her often before she became too ill to talk on the phone. One of her greatest regrets was that she had so many stories to share, but just didn’t have time to get them all written.
I wish I could convey what a brave, strong, and terrific woman the world has lost. Words fail me.
She will be missed.

Very sorry to hear this news. My condolences to her family.
Yes, I am sorry to hear this and I wish her family peace.
She will certainly be missed. Though I never met her personally, I knew her through her books. What a great loss to our community.
She was an amazing friend — my heart hurts from this loss.
Such sad news.
I met Linda on Kindleboards. She was one of the first people to say hello and welcome me. She gave me encouragement, made me laugh, offered supports, and told a darned good story. I am so sad to hear that she has left us.
She has been a light. My heart goes out to her family.

I shared this wonderful article on my FB to get the word out.
My condolences to her family and those of you who knew her
Such terrible news. Though I’ve not had the opportunity to meet her on Kindleboards, I’ve seen many of her books being praised throughout the author community. She has touched many lives and hearts and made many friends. R.I.P.
I’m very sorry to hear this. Our community will be diminished without her.

Linda’s Night Camp was the only indie paperback I have ever bought. I donated it to my grandkids school library after reading it on my Kindle.
Such talent and such a nice lady will be missed.
Rest in peace, LC. Heaven has gained a wonderful new storyteller and we have lost a wonderful author and lady. You will be missed.
Linda was a wonderful storyteller and a true leader in the indie community. Our thoughts and wishes are with her family and her many readers.
Very, very sad. She was taken too soon. My condolences to her family.
It’s always sad when friends and/or family pass on. I’ll be praying for Linda’s friends and family.
Hi Lynn–
I know your support of Linda was truly treasured. It’s taken me a couple of days to write something about our friend.
